Meet Viesus at Visual 1st 2026

A live demo, a breakfast session and two days of conversations. Viesus is heading to San Francisco for Visual 1st on September 29–30.

We’re back at Visual 1st as a Platinum Sponsor. It is the one event on our calendar built entirely around imaging, and the one where we tend to bring work that is still fresh from development.

Now in its 14th year, Visual 1st brings together executives from across the photo and video industry: app and software developers, camera manufacturers, print providers, platforms and stock media companies. According to its current attendee profile, 80% are director level or higher, and 23% travel from outside North America.

The event takes place at KQED’s headquarters on Mariposa Street in San Francisco’s Mission District.

It is the kind of event where the people building this technology actually talk to each other.

Where to find us

Show & Tell — Tuesday 29 September, 2:35 PM

Four minutes, live on stage: HDR-to-print. We’ll show new technology developed to translate phone-captured HDR for print, and why the same processing matters in digital workflows that do not fully support HDR. We’ll close with a first look at what we’re building next.

Want to go deeper? Reserve your seat for Wednesday morning’s breakfast session, or ask for the recap if you can’t make it to San Francisco.

Breakfast session — Wednesday 30 September

Coffee and pastries from 8:15 · Presentation 8:20–8:40 · Questions until 9:00

Wake-Up Call: From Ten Images to Ten Million

10 images are a demo. 10 million are an infrastructure decision.

Three common assumptions about AI imaging stop holding up at production volume: that capability is the main constraint, that cloud is always the best way to scale, and that a better model automatically means better output. We’ll put production numbers and real output behind all three, including our own cost data.

Find us in the Pub Hub meeting room on the second floor, next to the pastry breakfast. Grab a coffee, come in and ask us anything.

Reserve a seat and add it to your calendar.

Our table — both days

Find us in the exhibit area throughout Visual 1st. See the prints up close, ask for a live demo, or talk through your production setup, image volumes and anything that came up during the sessions.

Why this room, and why now

This year’s program keeps returning to trust: where an image came from, whether it has been altered and what can be verified. Adobe’s Andy Parsons, Global Head of Content Authenticity, will approach that question through provenance and Content Credentials.

Viesus addresses a narrower production question: how far can you improve an image without changing what it is?

We enhance existing images rather than generate new scenes. Upscaling necessarily produces new pixel values, but our aim is to preserve the content and intent of the source image, not add objects or reinterpret the scene.

“If a customer tells us the AI changed what the photo was, that's a complaint, not a compliment.” Servi Pieters, CEO, Viesus AG

What we're bringing

  • Viesus V13, including HDR-to-print. Many standard workflows use only the SDR base image, losing the additional range stored in the HDR data. Viesus detects supported HDR formats and prepares them automatically for standard print environments.
  • vScene, scene-aware enhancement that detects the type of scene and automatically applies settings optimized for it.
  • The TIPA World Award 2026 for Best AI B2B Software.
  • Reported results from platforms already running Viesus at production scale: 20% higher average order value, 25% higher satisfaction, 20% fewer complaints and 15% fewer reprints.

San Francisco. 29–30 September. KQED.

Come to the breakfast session, catch the demo or find our table. We’re happy to talk about whatever you’re trying to solve.
