Viesus Wins TIPA World Award 2026 for Best AI B2B Software

Every year, editors from imaging publications across 15 countries review what's new in the industry. Not marketing material — the actual product. How it works, what problem it solves, whether it earns its place.

In 2026, TIPA named Viesus the Best AI B2B Software.

What TIPA is

TIPA — the Technical Image Press Association — has been running the World Awards since 1991. The jury consists of editors from specialist imaging publications across Europe, North America, Asia, and Australia. This year's full list spans cameras, lenses, accessories, printing hardware, and software.

The award recognizes Viesus as the first winner of TIPA’s new Best AI B2B Software category, and the only production-scale infrastructure on the 2026 list.

The Problem Worth Solving

Images arrive damaged. Photos travel through social media compression, mixed capture conditions, and format conversions before anyone uploads them to a platform. On screen, the damage is often invisible. In print, on large displays, or inside high-resolution formats, it isn't.

By the time a customer holds a photo book and notices something looks off, the window to fix it has closed.

The same problem shows up differently in professional workflows — school photography, real estate, sports events. Camera exports sit in queues, waiting for manual correction before anything can go out. Every hour of delay compounds.

AI image enhancement for print is where Viesus started, and where the results are measurable. Across platforms running Viesus at production scale, customers report 20% higher average order value, 25% higher satisfaction, 20% fewer complaints, and 15% fewer reprints — the operational metrics that matter in print.

"We accidentally turned Viesus off once, and our customer complaints more than doubled overnight. Once Viesus was reactivated, the rate returned to normal. That single switch saves us rework costs every day."Albelli, Quality Assurance

Viesus works behind the scenes in high-volume services such as Mixbook and ifolor, processing millions of customer images automatically. Mixbook was named the best photo book service by NYT Wirecutter in 2025 — proof that consistent output quality wins awards of its own.

How It Works

Automated image enhancement runs before images reach production, not after. No extra step for the customer. No manual review for the team. It happens inside the existing workflow.

One capability that sets Viesus apart in production contexts: PDF enhancement for print. Images embedded inside PDFs — a photo calendar, a print-ready brochure — get the same quality treatment as standalone uploads. Text, vectors, and layout stay untouched.

Viesus also handles HDR formats from modern smartphones automatically — detecting and converting PQ, HLG, and Apple Gain Map files so they render correctly in standard print environments, without any manual intervention. The same applies to scene-aware correction: the engine distinguishes scenes with similar color and luminance profiles and applies appropriate adjustments per image, not per batch.

The Viesus Cloud API delivers automated image enhancement inside workflows where work already happens: Enfocus Switch, Fiery JobFlow Pro, Cloudinary, and Zapier. It also deploys on-premise, so for platforms handling personal photos at volume, customer data stays within their own infrastructure.

Beyond Print

The same infrastructure runs wherever image quality affects user experience at scale. Real estate portals normalizing mobile uploads. E-commerce platforms standardizing product photo quality. Marketplaces and consumer apps where millions of user-submitted images arrive in unpredictable condition. The problem is the same: images arrive inconsistent, and manual review doesn't scale. Viesus runs in the background and closes that gap automatically.

"Image enhancement should work as invisible infrastructure, not manual intervention. People see perfect results. They don't see the millions of suboptimal images Viesus corrects every day. That's exactly how it should work." — Servi Pieters, CEO, Viesus AG

"It's rewarding to build image enhancement algorithms that improve millions of images every day — and with them, the moments they capture." — Jan Schüssler, Photographer & Software Engineer, Viesus AG

The official ceremony takes place October 2–4, 2026 at the Imaging World Conference and Trade Fair in Nuremberg, Germany.

For Viesus, the award is not just recognition of an AI product. It is recognition of a different role for image enhancement: not as a manual editing step, but as production infrastructure.
