Autumn has been a busy season on our side: a couple of key events, steady product improvements, and new integrations finding their way into real-world print, photo, and online workflows. As the year winds down and the holiday peak is in full swing, here’s a short look at what we’ve improved over the past months — and what’s coming next.
📍 Events Recap
PRINTING United Expo
Our US trip started in Orlando, where Viesus appeared in the expo’s official AI Guide, a small but welcome sign of how visible AI has become in print. Between partner check-ins and new conversations, it was clear that many print providers already run AI in production, while others are actively piloting and scaling it to capture its full benefits in quality and workflow performance.
Visual 1st
San Francisco brought a different energy. As Platinum Sponsors, we opened the Show & Tell session, pitched our latest work, and spent two days in a community that treats imaging as both craft and infrastructure. The event took place just blocks away from OpenAI, that felt like a reminder that the future of visual tech is being sketched out in real time, right outside the conference doors.
Back in Switzerland, the trip gave us a full view of the industry: from print to imaging to the tech driving both. Working from a Swiss base while connected to teams across Europe and the US, we came back with ideas that bridge these worlds and shape what we build next.
🚀 Announcements
Viesus App on Zapier
Our new Zapier integration is now live in beta, making it possible to run Viesus enhancements inside your existing workflows with a single click. It’s designed for fast onboarding with no development needed, and additional documentation will follow as we finalize the release. If you test the Zap, feel free to share your experience and we’ll incorporate it into upcoming updates.
🤝 Partnerships
Fiery
Together with Fiery, we’ve been working on a native Viesus node inside Fiery JobFlow Pro. The image-enhancement step is already live, and support for PDF enhancement is on the way in an upcoming release. The goal is simple: make Viesus a seamless step in a JobFlow, fully automated and easy to slot into existing workflows. The expanded integration is planned for release later this winter, with early access available for testers.
Enfocus
Our Viesus Image & PDF Enhancer app for Enfocus Switch continues to gain traction, helping teams automatically enhance images and embedded visuals inside their existing Switch flows. The joint webinar we hosted with Enfocus is now available for anyone who wants a deeper look at real production use cases.
And at PRINTING United, we also took part in the “mini-me” automation demo — a playful, fully automated flow that used Viesus to boost image quality before generating tiny stand-up figures in minutes. If you’re curious how the full pipeline worked, you can explore the detailed breakdown.
🎁 Holiday Testing Bonus
The holiday season is often a good moment to test workflows without production pressure. 🛠️ Product Updates
Extended HEIC / HEIF / AVIF Support
Broader compatibility with modern formats, including new iOS 18 HEIC files. Viesus now processes 10- and 12-bit HEIC/HEIF and converts them automatically for consistent results.
Faster Face Detection
Core engine optimizations improve stability and batch performance, with noticeably smoother handling of portrait-heavy sets for on-premise users.
PDF Enhancement Improvements
PDF enhancement is now available across all tiers (300 dpi Free, 600 dpi Basic, 1200 dpi Business). Viesus automatically detects and skips graphic or vector-style elements inside non-flattened PDFs, while still allowing artificial-looking photos to be enhanced when configured.
